What Would Jesus Do? Yeah, I copied it from my other site...boo hoo

So I'm driving home on Sunday night, and I think to myself.."what's up with the phrase 'What would Jesus do?'". I think that might be one of the most silly things to ask yourself in a situation. First of all, if you're in situation that is bad enough where you have to ask that question, you're in a situation that Jesus would never find himself in as an all-knowing being. Now ignoring the fact that Jesus wouldn't ever find himself in everyday situations, how would Jesus actually handle these situations. Like say Jesus racked up credit card debt? What would Jesus do there? Well, he'd probably go back in time and make it so he didn't rack up said credit card debt, or possibly as a god-like being, he could simply make any item he needed. Now that would be what Jesus would do. Does that sound like something a human would be able to do? No, so what is the point of this question "What would Jesus Do".Hey, I've only got water, but I want to drink...well Jesus would make wine! Once again, as a mortal, you would be hard pressed to make wine out of water...maybe if you had some grapes, an old Italian lady with no shoes, and a giant vat to crush grapes in, you'd have a start. But otherwise, you might as well go get some Crystal Light and deal. So once again, someone starts something to make money off of Jesus...much like catholism and the whole notion that to worship the lord you need overdone buildings of worship. I'm looking at you Vatican! Maybe all that money to build those places could actually be used to help humans that need help. Oh well, I guess that would be a decision for Jesus. BA ZING!

Open Apology To The World

As an American that has been around and paid some attention to events the past few years, I am obliged to offer an olive branch to the rest of the world. I'm sorry for what our leaders have done to you since September 11th. As Americans we were a very hurt and scared people after the attacks on our homeland. After all, America hasn't been attacked on the mainland from a foreign entity since the War of 1812. We didn't know how to react and while we griefed, we rallied behind our Commander in Chief.
That's what you do in a time like that, we rally and become a stronger unit. The world offered condolences and support and we were gracious. We went through proper channels in going after Al Qaeda leadership in Afghanistan. We respected others' laws and the world community. The world understood that we should hunt down those responsible for these acts and bring them to justice, not just for the well being of America, but for the well being of the world. After awhile, it was apparent to some that our government was out to swell any criticism about the leadership by making divisive statements such as "with us or against us". The did all of this while draping themselves in a flag to seem patriotic. I don't know if they started leading our country down another path on purpose, or because they believe it is the right path, but it is wrong.
We have abandoned a large amount of our allies, forgone the UN, a world court, and so on and so on. We became an agressor for the first time in my lifetime. Instead of reacting with a consensus of the world, we decided to pre-emptively invade a country without consent of the UN. Now we are slowly becoming sucked into a possible civil war. We are bearing a large expense of lives and credibility. Instead of keeping the world united while pursuing terrorism after September 11th, we have driven it apart.
I wanted to let everyone know that help is on its way, hopefully. Slowly the tide is turning against Bush, and people have begun questioning this administration's tactics. Hopefully this push is strong enough for a regime change in America, but if not, I will know that I have tried. America is still feeling the effects of September 11th and Bush's campaign feeds on that fear. I wish I could say that all Americans are in agreement about the state of our country, but we are split down the middle. I think most of the people are still fooled by Bush and not radically right. They are simply scared. Scared that what happened in 2001 will happen again, scared that changing leaders in a time of war could change the course of our war on terrorism, scared of the ever shrinking world. Americans are not fools, we will be back. We will become respected instead of feared once again. We will be the beacon and not a burden. Just hang on, hope is coming.

Why I'm Proud To Call Alex A Friend

This is an email that Alex wrote after a lengthy political thread going around via email. It just shows that despite the smells that eminate from him, and his ability to eat three 1lb burgers, that he occasionally makes a good point.

Hey Everyone,
I know that the political conversation has kinda died down due to some
emotional battles between the conservatives and the liberals, so I
just wanted to let you guys know that I just got through reading all
of your emails and I enjoyed them. Chris, you've got good points and
although Ryan and I see eye to eye on Kerry/Edwards, I still give you
credit for at least caring and staying informed on what's going on.
It's nice to know that people our age actually care about this stuff,
even if it is only about one issue. So this is where I'm going with
this email.
Since we all are people here who don't live under rocks, I think that
it's important to get out the message to our peers, friends and family
about voting. It disappoints me beyond end how many people don't pay
attention to our world. We live in America and we have the right to
influence our future by ELECTING officials to represent us. Nobody
will ever get the perfect candidate for any office, however, one can
still identify with one of the candidates with little effort. Many
people have the lamest excuses for reasons to not vote.... usually
along the lines of a.) no time to visit the polls or b.) I don't know
enough or c) I don't care who wins or d.) I don't like either of them
so I'm not voting, etc...
These excuses are unacceptable and we should not let people around us
use them to 'cop out' of voting. It is not just our privilege, it's
our right to choose who governs our lives for the next four years.
When someone says that they don't know enough or don't care who wins,
or even if they say it doesn't affect them, just ask them to choose
one of the plethora of topics that could possibly relate to and vote
off of that issue. It's important that people are being elected for
what they stand for. This is an election built around fear. I don't
just mean the Bush campaign that Ryan discussed at one point. I'm
referring to fear and negativity that surrounds the main reasons that
most people have chosen their candidate. The fear that they can't
change horses in midstream. The fear that Kerry is flip-flopping.
The fear that Bush gets re-elected. The fear that we might get
attacked again. The fear that we're going to another war. The fear
that the world hates us. The fear that North Korea has ill
intentions. The fear of the Israel/Palestine conflict. The fear of
this that and the other
There are so many issues that come up in elections that have not even
surfaced in this election yet. Whatever happened to fiscal policy?
Our economy's performance affects all of us. Whatever happned to the
environment? Has anybody looked into the many things that have been
to the structure and policies that govern the environment throughout
the past four years? It's very disturbing to read about some of the
changes made to regulations, and it's even more disturbing to read
about who's benefitting from these changes. I don't want to make this
too political, I just want to get the message across to all of you...
get out the vote. Put it in your AIM profile, tell your family and
friends. Your vote counts, it really does. What will happen if the
state in which you vote from is decided by as many votes as Florida in
2000? Will you forgive yourself for not trying?
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Alex. I'm friends with
good ole McCauley... If anyone wants to talk to me sometime my email
is alemari@gmail.com and my AIM is dmband929 ... Take care all.
Cheers,
Alex "I won't use spell check" Marinelli
